Accubid training: Trimble courses, prices and videos
Official Accubid training is sold on Trimble's online store as live virtual classes, with separate tracks for Accubid Anywhere, Accubid Classic and LiveCount123. Fundamentals courses cost $1,735 per seat for Anywhere and $1,265 for Classic, and most advanced courses require the fundamentals class first45. Trimble MEP also posts free how-to videos and webinar recordings, and independent trainers teach Accubid Classic online or on site67.
Official Trimble Accubid training
Trimble sells Accubid courses on its online store under Training, then Estimating, in three categories: Accubid Anywhere (6 courses), Accubid Classic (7 courses) and LiveCount (2 courses)123. Each course page lists a price, a syllabus, prerequisites and a schedule of upcoming sessions. A few things hold across all of them:
- Classes are live and virtual, scheduled in Eastern time, most starting at 10:00 AM or 2:00 PM.
- You buy seats per class, and the schedule shows how many places are left. Some sessions in November 2026 had one or two seats remaining.
- Course purchases are marked non-refundable4.
- Trimble lists the audience as junior, senior and chief estimators, operations management, construction managers and project managers.
Prices and schedules below were read from each course page on November 3, 202645. Trimble's store pages don't state how many hours each class runs, so ask before you book if you need to plan an estimator's week around it.
Accubid Anywhere training
Trimble Accubid Anywhere training follows a fundamentals, then expanded, then specialty path. The Fundamentals course is the entry point for everyone; Expanded, Change Management and Database Management all list it as a prerequisite81011.
| Course | Price per seat | Prerequisite | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Estimating Fundamentals (Electrical) | $1,7354 | Basic Windows skills and previous estimating experience | Projects, Designation takeoffs, item and assembly takeoff without specs, the Extension screen, closing screens through Quoted Material, Final Pricing |
| Estimating Expanded (Electrical) | $1,0408 | Anywhere Fundamentals | Creating specifications, specification-driven takeoff, Bid Breakdowns and multiple Bid Summaries |
| LiveCount Cloud (Electrical) | $6959 | Windows proficiency and a current browser | The basic features of LiveCount, Anywhere's graphical takeoff tool |
| Change Management | $1,38510 | Anywhere Fundamentals | Creating, taking off and completing proposed change orders (PCOs) |
| Database Management (Electrical) | $1,73511 | Anywhere Fundamentals | The Manager module: items and assemblies, template jobs, folders, material categories, selection lists, takeoff pads and specifications |
| Computerized Electrical Estimating featuring Accubid Anywhere | $3,06512 | Windows proficiency and a current browser | Estimating itself: reading bid documents, breakdowns, systematic takeoff, extending to a bill of materials, labor, expenses and the final bid |
Trimble store prices in USD, checked November 3, 2026. The Computerized Electrical Estimating course showed no scheduled classes on that date12.
Fundamentals is where you learn the screens in the order a bid moves through them: set up a project, take off items and assemblies, check the Extension screen, then work the closing screens from field labor to quoted material and finish on Final Pricing4. Expanded adds the part that makes Anywhere different from a plain takeoff: specifications, so the same takeoff can be priced as different systems, and bid breakdowns that produce several bid summaries from one estimate8.
Accubid Classic training
Classic has its own track, with the same structure and a lower price per class. Expanded and Database Management require Classic Fundamentals1314. Trimble also lists a Classic Fundamentals class without the “virtual” label at $1,350, which had no sessions scheduled on November 3, 20262.
| Course | Price per seat | Prerequisite | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Estimating Software Virtual Training, Fundamentals | $1,2655 | Windows proficiency and a current browser | Default jobs, the item and common assembly databases, eight takeoff modes, the Extension screen, closing screens and Final Pricing |
| Estimating Software Virtual Training Lab, Expanded | $1,26513 | Classic Fundamentals | Job folders, program defaults, screen and report styles, multiple bid summaries, merging takeoff, bid breakdowns and exporting data |
| Database Management | $95014 | Classic Fundamentals | Item and common assembly databases, designation and takeoff libraries, queries, screen styles, sort codes and updating material pricing |
| ChangeOrder Software Virtual Training Lab | $1,26515 | Windows proficiency and a current browser | The basic features of Accubid Classic ChangeOrder |
| LiveCount Cloud featuring Accubid Classic | $69516 | Windows proficiency and a current browser | The basic features of LiveCount with Classic |
| Computerized Electrical Estimating featuring Accubid Classic | $3,06517 | Windows proficiency and a current browser | An introduction to estimating electrical projects with Accubid estimating and LiveCount, through to a final bid |
Trimble store prices in USD, checked November 3, 2026. The Computerized Electrical Estimating course showed no scheduled classes on that date17.
Classic Fundamentals teaches eight of the available takeoff modes, the Extension screen and the closing screens from direct labor to quoted material5. The Expanded lab is about running a department rather than a single bid: job folders, program defaults, report styles, merging takeoffs from several estimators and exporting data13. Database Management is the class for whoever owns your items, assemblies and pricing updates14.

Accubid training online: Trimble Learn and free videos
Trimble Learn
Trimble Learn is Trimble's training platform across its products, with self-paced eLearning, instructor-led sessions online and in person, virtual labs and digital credentials18. Trimble doesn't list an Accubid course catalog on its public Learn page, so check inside the platform with your Trimble ID, or ask your Trimble rep which Accubid content your subscription includes. The Accubid product pages also link to “View training options” under support and training19.
Accubid Anywhere training videos
The free option is Trimble's own video. The Trimble MEP YouTube channel has short Accubid Anywhere how-tos, such as creating an estimate from a template or a past estimate6. The Trimble Construction Video Library hosts webinar recordings, including a demonstration of Accubid Anywhere's change management module and “Ask the Expert” sessions on change order basics in Accubid Anywhere and on using the Integrator export tool with Accubid Classic20. Videos won't replace a class, but they're a good way to see a workflow before you try it on a live bid.
Independent Accubid trainers
Some estimators prefer a trainer who has run an estimating department. Estimating 101, run by Don Kiper, teaches Accubid Classic modules online over Webex or on site, including Classic estimating, database management and Change Order Pro, with a 160-page training manual for each attendee. Online training is sold in blocks of 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours, and software training can be combined with on-site estimator training in two- to five-day packages721. The same firm sells a six-volume set of more than 500 pages, Electrical Estimating with Trimble Accubid Classic Software, for $32521. These are independent of Trimble, so confirm which Accubid version a trainer covers before you book. If bids are due before anyone on staff is trained, outsourced electrical estimating services can carry the workload for a few weeks.
What to learn first
- Estimating before software. If you've never built a bid, the computerized estimating course or electrical estimating classes come first; Trimble's Anywhere Fundamentals lists previous estimating experience as a prerequisite.
- Fundamentals for your version, Classic or Anywhere. Everything else builds on it.
- LiveCount, so your takeoff flows into the estimate instead of being typed in.
- Expanded: specifications on Anywhere, bid summaries and merging takeoffs on Classic.
- Database Management, for one person in the shop who owns items, assemblies and pricing.
- Change orders, when you start managing awarded jobs.
Moving from Accubid Classic to Anywhere
Years on Classic carry over in how you think about a bid: assemblies, labor factors, the extension and the closing screens. The course tracks don't carry over. Anywhere's Expanded, Change Management and Database Management classes each list the Anywhere Fundamentals class as their prerequisite, not Classic Fundamentals81011. Plan on Anywhere Fundamentals for everyone who estimates, and put your database owner through Anywhere Database Management early, since specifications, takeoff pads and selection lists are set up there and shape every estimate that follows. If a forced migration has you looking at other platforms anyway, we lay out how AmpCount's takeoff sits next to McCormick estimating and IntelliBid.
Training a new hire on Accubid
- Have them shadow one full bid in Accubid before their first class, so the screens map to real work.
- Book Fundamentals early; popular sessions can be down to a few seats weeks ahead.
- Give them a small job to estimate right after the class, while the closing screens are fresh.
- Have a senior estimator review their extension and final pricing screens on the first few bids.
- Pair the software with the trade: a clear picture of the estimator role and the takeoff sheet help them see what Accubid is automating.
How long does it take to learn Accubid?
Neither Trimble's store nor its product pages publish a timeline for becoming proficient, so be wary of any precise number. What the published material does show is the shape of the path: a fundamentals class, then expanded and specialty classes that require it, and independent online training sold in blocks of 10 to 30 hours47. Real speed comes from repetition on live bids, with someone checking your closing screens until the numbers stop surprising you. Read how electrical estimating works if you want the process behind the screens, or browse the rest of our estimating and takeoff guides for pricing, bidding and hiring topics.
Trimble Accubid training and support contacts
For questions about your license, installation or a course you've bought, Trimble MEP Client Services is available Monday through Friday during business hours at mepsupport@trimble.com, 1-800-234-3758 toll-free in North America or 1-905-761-8800 elsewhere22. For an overview of the product versions, pricing and alternatives, see the Trimble Accubid guide.
One more thing worth knowing as you train: much of an Accubid estimate starts with counting devices and fixtures on the plans. If that part is eating your estimators' week, AmpCount counts every device and fixture from the legend on vector PDFs and exports quantities per drawing with your Accubid assembly codes. It doesn't price or apply labor; that stays in Accubid. See how AmpCount works next to Accubid.
Questions about Accubid training
Is there free Accubid training?
Trimble's live courses are paid. The free resources are Trimble MEP's YouTube videos and the webinar recordings in the Trimble Construction Video Library.

Do Classic courses work for Accubid Anywhere?
They're separate products with separate course tracks. Take the track for the version your shop runs.
Can I get a refund if I can't attend?
Trimble's store marks its Accubid courses as non-refundable, so check the date with your team before buying seats.
Count the devices, check the numbers
AmpCount reads the legend on a vector PDF set, counts every electrical device and fixture on every sheet, keeps uncertain marks out of the count until you confirm them, and checks fixtures against the schedule. $149 a month or $1,490 a year for a team of up to 3, cancel anytime, full refund within 14 days.
